Project:

Your task is to create an original piece of art for the Brooks Media House presentation in April.

Your artwork could be:

A set of photographs

A set of digital artworks

A short video/animation

An song/audio recording

Ableton Live - Drum Patterns

Search in your PC apps for Ableton Live 11 Intro

In the left panel click on "Drums"

The list of drum kits will appear - Drag the "909 Core Kit" into column number 1 labelled 1-Midi

Double click on the top "Cell" of the "909" Column and a keyboard should appear at the bottom of the app.

Click on the headphones icon and try adding some notes by double clicking on the sequencer grid.

You can adjust the length of your loop in the "clip" section on the left and you can adjust the tempo in the top left corner of the app.

Try: 

Creating a few different drum patterns and different tempos

Using different drum kits to explore different drum sounds.

Illustrator - Intro

1) Find 4 examples of artwork made with Adobe Illustrator.  Post your examples to your portfolio with a link to website where you found it.

Illustrator - Basic Shapes

Open Adobe Illustrator:

Create a new project - Choose "web-large"' for your art board size.

1) Create Shapes: Use the Rectangle, Ellipse and Polygon tool to create shapes.

2) Create Lines: Use the Line Segment tool, Pen tool and Brush tool to create lines.

3) Combine Shapes: Use the "Shape Builder Tool" to combine shapes. 

4) Challenge: Can you create a toucan?

Text Photo Art

 

Create TWO text photo art graphics. Use ONE online image and ONE photo that you have captured yourself.

Create 2 Layers in Photoshop:

On the first layer, import a photo of a landscape or closeup

On the second layer - add text that is big and bold

Place the photo layer on top of the text layer.

Hold down "Alt" and then click on the line between the two layers in the layer panel.

2024 Media - Top 5

 Create a slide for your portfolio which highlights some Media Art that you are excited about for 2024.

Create TWO - "Top Five" lists which feature media that has been released or will be released this year.
